AYANWORKS Hackathon:

This month, we organized an exciting internal hackathon where three dedicated teams developed innovative solutions across various use cases. The themes for the hackathon were Healthcare, Supply Chain Traceability, and Content Authentication using verifiable credentials. The teams showcased impressive ingenuity and technical prowess, reflecting our commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the company.

AYANWORKS team at the ID4Africa 2024 AGM:

Our team had the privilege of attending the ID4Africa 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held under the theme "Digital Identity as DPI: Fostering Trust, Inclusion & Adoption." Engaging in productive discussions with industry leaders, our team highlighted our advanced digital identity and verifiable credentials solutions. This year’s event saw over 2,000 delegates from Africa and around the world, addressing critical issues such as Digital Identity as Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), digital verifiable credential management, identity governance, the role of civil society, and cybersecurity for identity professionals. One of the key aspects of the event was how to make an inclusive solution for Citizens, Migrants, Residents, and Refugees, where Identity can help traceability and benefits distribution seamless and transparent. Timely registration of Birth certificates was another key topic. How countries can build successful DPIs. The essence is that not one solution fits for all. Countries need to be flexible and choose the right solutions. Some of the countries shared their experiences with using the best and creating their own model. This was great to hear as this gives space for innovation. Next year this event is going to be organized in Ethiopia.

Our CEO, Kalyan Kulkarni, recently appeared on the podcast "Identerati Office Hours" - Episode 018, hosted by Mike Schwartz. The episode's topic was "Best ROI for National ID," and Kalyan was joined by co-speakers Jacques V., Chief Technology Officer at Druk Holding & Investments, Bhutan, and Armando J. Manzueta Peña, Digital Transformation Director, Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development, Dominican Republic. In this episode, Kalyan discussed and demonstrated how Bhutan rolled out foundational identity with the CREDEBL Platform. The discussion also covered the Singapore SingPass model, which enables sign-in to over 2,700+ services on government and private sector websites. Key points included strategies for driving adoption and achieving the highest return on investment for national ID programs. Watch the whole episode 👇

Indonesia’s President Launches Platform to Drive Digital ID and Service Integration:

In a significant move towards digital transformation, Indonesia's President Joko Widodo launched INA Digital, a new government technology platform. Introduced at the 2024 Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) summit, INA Digital aims to integrate public applications for digital ID, health services, education, social aid, police permits, and driver’s licenses into a single portal, streamlining access and enhancing service delivery. EU Commission Urged to Prepare for Blockchain and AI Integration:

The European Blockchain Observatory and Forum (EUBOF), an initiative of the European Commission, has released a report emphasizing the need for the EU to prepare for the convergence of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI). Highlighting trends such as decentralized AI networks, enhanced smart contracts, and emerging DeFi protocols, the report calls for proactive measures to embrace these transformative technologies.
